UK and Pakistani universities will work together to develop higher education linkages between UK and Pakistan

The Institute of Physics, the Islamia University Bahawalpur won the British Council Pak-UK Education Gateway Mobility Partnership Project for Faculty. Vice-Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob has said that this achievement is a manifestation of the high academic standards and international level teaching and research of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. In this partnership, UK and Pakistani universities will work together to develop higher education linkages between UK and Pakistan. The representative/applicant Universities from Pakistan and UK will design a rigorous short-term mobility program on different thematic areas. Dr. Kaneez Rabia from the Institute of Physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Prof. Alan J. Drew from the Queen Marry University of London are playing the leading role in the project on the theme of Energy (generation, distribution, and conservation).The  Pakistani team of this project consists of  11-Faculty members, 9 from the Institute of Physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, one from COMSATS University Islamabad, and one from the Govt. Sadiq College Women University, Bahawalpur.  The UK team of this project consists of 8- Faculty members from Queen Marry University of London will also visit to the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Through this program, there would be capacity building of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur faculty staff in advanced characterization and analysis techniques. A meeting with a number of other key players in the energy and batteries research area will be arranged by UK team. Examples are the “Batteries Innovation Centre” in Coventry and the Faraday Institution (representative universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Imperial, UCL, Sheffield, etc.). Different members of the team will identify their areas of future collaboration between the wider faculty of the Queen Marry University of London and other Universities in the UK. The detail about potential future funding schemes involving Pakistan-UK international collaboration in the energy arena will also be the agenda of this visit. A scientific workshop will be arranged by the Institute of physics, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur. The research students and the faculty from Physics and chemistry department will get an opportunity to have one to one contact with the UK delegation, consequently broader collaborative opportunities. Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur congratulated the project team and appreciated  the efforts of Prof. Dr. Saeed Ahmad Buzdar, Dean Faculty of Physical and Mathematical Science and Dr. Kaniz Rabia, the project lead, to bring the Islamia University of Bahawalpur  in collaboration with technologically advanced countries.

انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے برٹش کونسل کا پاک یوکے ایجوکیشن گیٹ وے موبیلٹی پارٹنرشپ فار فیکلٹی کا پراجیکٹ جیت لیا۔وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا ہے کہ یہ اعزاز اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے اعلیٰ تعلیمی معیار اور بین الاقوامی درجے کی تدریس و تحقیق کا مظہر ہے۔ اس شراکت داری میں برطانیہ اور پاکستانی یونیورسٹیاں اعلیٰ تعلیمی روابط کو فروغ دینے کے لیے مل کر کام کریں گی۔ پاکستان اور برطانیہ کی نمائندہ یونیورسٹیاں مختلف موضوعاتی شعبوں پر ایک مضبوط قلیل مدتی ایکسچینج پروگرام تیار کریں گی۔پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سعید احمد بزدار ڈین نے کہا کہ ڈاکٹر کنیز رابعہ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور اور پروفیسر ایلن جے ڈریو کوئین میری یونیورسٹی آف لندن کی توانائی (جنریشن، ڈسٹری بیوشن، اور کنزرویشن) کے موضوع پر اس پراجیکٹ میں اہم کردار ادا کر رہے ہیں۔ اس پراجیکٹ کی پاکستانی ٹیم 11 فیکلٹی ممبران پر مشتمل ہے، جن میں 9 انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور، ایک کامسیٹس یونیورسٹی اسلام آباد سے اور ایک گورنمنٹ صادق کالج ویمن یونیورسٹی بہاولپورشامل ہیں۔ اس پراجیکٹ میں  برطانیہ کی ٹیم 8 ممبران پر مشتمل ہے۔ کوئین میری یونیورسٹی آف لندن کے فیکلٹی ممبران اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کا دورہ کریں گے۔اس پروگرام کے ذریعے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پورفیکلٹی کے عملے کی اعلی درجے کی خصوصیات اور تجزیہ تکنیکوں میں استعداد کار میں اضافہ ہوگا۔ توانائی اور بیٹریوں کی تحقیق کے شعبے میں متعدد دیگر اہم کھلاڑیوں کے ساتھ ایک ملاقات کا اہتمام برطانیہ کی ٹیم کرے گی۔ کنٹری اور فیراڈے انسٹی ٹیوشن میں ''بیٹریز انوویشن سنٹر'' (نمائندہ یونیورسٹیاں جیسے کیمبرج، آکسفورڈ، امپیریل، یو سی ایل، شیفیلڈ، وغیرہ) کی مثالیں ہیں۔ ٹیم کے مختلف اراکین لندن کی کوئین میری یونیورسٹی اور برطانیہ کی دیگر یونیورسٹیوں کے وسیع فیکلٹی کے درمیان مستقبل میں تعاون کے اپنے شعبوں کی نشاندہی کریں گے۔ توانائی کے میدان میں پاکستان-برطانیہ کے بین الاقوامی تعاون پر مشتمل مستقبل کی ممکنہ فنڈنگ اسکیموں کے بارے میں تفصیل بھی اس دورے کا ایجنڈا ہو گی۔ انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف فزکس اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی جانب سے ایک سائنسی ورکشاپ کا اہتمام کیا جائے گا۔ تحقیقی طلباء اور شعبہ فزکس اور کیمسٹری کے فیکلٹی کو برطانیہ کے وفد کے ساتھ ایک دوسرے سے رابطے کا موقع ملے گا۔ انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور نے پراجیکٹ ٹیم کو مبارکباد دی اور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر سعید احمد بزدار، ڈین فیکلٹی آف فزیکل اینڈ میتھ میٹیکل سائنسز  اور پراجیکٹ کی سربراہ ڈاکٹر کنیز رابعہ کی کوششوں کو سراہا۔
