VC Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran discusses the important role of academia and banking development in NIBAF training

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran, Vice Chancellor, Islamia University of Bahawalpur, has said that promoting academia-industry linkage is essential for both sectors as well as for the country's economy. The banking sector is of utmost importance in keeping the economy active, ensuring socioeconomic development. He added that collaboration and cooperation between higher education institutions, banks, and other financial institutions can play a key role in providing a trained workforce, as well as promoting research, sustainable development, and launching new projects in agriculture, industry, and other sectors. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Kamran expressed these views while addressing a training session for officials associated with banking institutions organized by the National Institute of Banking and Finance, the State Bank of Pakistan. A three-day agricultural finance session was scheduled at Islamia University Bahawalpur on agribusiness risk and lending techniques. As many as 18 commercial bankers attended the session. The session was arranged by NIBAF Pakistan Ltd., a subsidiary of the State Bank of Pakistan. This capacity-building session was delivered by Bank Alfalah Ltd. agribusiness head Yahya H. Wahla, who has almost 28 years of experience in the agri-finance field. He shared his experience with participants to understand the dynamics of the business sector along with key insights of business intelligence. The topics covered included agrimarketing, agri finance risk, agri finance documentation, and the remedial management of non-performing loans. During these three days, Dr. Muhammad Nafees Chairman Horticulture IUB, shared his experience during the session. Furthe, the Vice Chancellor of the University graced the session with his key note address in appreciating the role of banks for the agri sector and appreciated holding sessions for the university students. All participants and the Training Manager NIBAF SBP Mubashar Tayyeb thanked Registrar Muhammad Shaji ur Rehman and the Director PR, Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Khalid, Deputy Registrar Public Affairs Fatima Junaid, and the team for coordinating and managing the program.

بہاولپور (پ ر) پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے کہا ہے کہ اکیڈیمیا اور انڈسٹری کے روابط کا فروغ دونوں شعبوں کے ساتھ ساتھ ملکی معیشت کی ترقی کے لیے بھی ضروری ہے۔ بینکنگ کا شعبہ معیشت کو فعال رکھنے، سماجی تعلیمی و اقتصادی ترقی کو یقینی بنانے میں انتہائی اہمیت کا حامل ہے۔ اعلیٰ تعلیمی اداروں، بینکوں اور مالیاتی اداروں کے مابین باہمی تعاون تربیت یافتہ افرادی قوت فراہم کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ تحقیقی سرگرمیوں، پائیدار ترقی، زراعت، صنعت اور دیگر شعبوں میں نئے منصوبوں کے آغاز میں کلیدی کردار ادا کرسکتا ہے۔ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر محمد کامران نے ان خیالات کا اظہار نیشنل انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف بینکنگ اینڈ فنانس اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان کے زیر اہتمام بینکنگ اداروں سے وابستہ افراد کے لیے تربیتی سیشن سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ وائس چانسلر نے زرعی شعبے کی ترقی کے لیے بینکوں کے کردار کو سراہتے ہوئے یونیورسٹی کے طلبہ کے لیے سیشن کے انعقاد کو سراہا۔ دریں اثنا اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں ایگری بزنس رسک اور قرض دینے کی تکنیک پر تین روزہ زرعی فنانس سیشن کا انعقاد کیا گیا۔ سیشن میں 18 کمرشل بینکرز نے شرکت کی۔ اس سیشن کا اہتمام اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان کے ذیلی ادارے نیشنل انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف بینکنگ اینڈ فنانس پاکستان لمیٹڈ نے کیا تھا۔ استعداد کار بڑھانے کا یہ سیشن بینک الفلاح لمیٹڈ کے ایگری بزنس ہیڈ یحییٰ ایچ واہلہ نے دیا جو ایگری فنانس،  ایگری مارکیٹنگ، ایگری فنانس رسک، ایگری فنانس ڈاکومنٹیشن اور غیر فعال قرضوں کے بارے میں تفصیلی گفتگو کی۔ ٹریننگ منیجر نیشنل انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف بینکنگ اینڈ فنانس اسٹیٹ بینک آف پاکستان مبشر طیب نے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی آف بہاولپور کی ٹیم رجسٹرار محمد شجیع الرحمن، ڈائریکٹر تعلقات عامہ ڈاکٹر شہزاد احمد خالد، ڈپٹی رجسٹرار پبلک ریلیشنز فاطمہ مظاہر کا پروگرام کے مربوط انتظام پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔
