VC Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar directed to form an investigation committee on the incident of building collapse in BJ campus

Vice-Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar has directed to form an investigation committee on the incident of the collapsed building in Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies yesterday. He has said that modern scientific aspects of this incident, especially forensic investigation, should find out the reasons. The Vice-Chancellor has directed the University Treasurer that the university will bear the full cost of treatment of the injured teachers and students. The Vice Chancellor inspected the incident site today. On this occasion, the Chief Security Officer briefed him about incident details. The Vice Chancellor directed that the gas pipelines in all the buildings of the University should be inspected and safety measures should be ensured by preventing any gas leakage. The Vice Chancellor thanked Special Secretary Higher Education Department Sarfraz Ahmed for his emergency visit to the university last evening and for his cooperation. The Vice Chancellor also thanked Dr. Amir Bukhari MS Bahawal Victoria Hospital and the doctors and staff of Burn Unit of Nishtar Hospital for their timely cooperation. The Vice Chancellor said that in this hour of trial, university teachers, employees and students have unitedly faced this accident. Meanwhile, the Registrar Muhammad Shaji ur Rahman has formed an investigation committee on the direction of the vice chancellor. The head of this committee is Prof. Dr. Shazia Anjum and other members include Haroon Rasheed, Chairman of the Civil Engineering Department, Tuseef Anwar, Executive Engineer, Abdul Wadood, Chief Security Officer and  Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim, Manager, Occupational Safety and Health. The committee will determine the circumstances surrounding the blast at the Cholistan Institute of Desert Studies. The committee will contact the relevant government institutions and agencies, including the Punjab Forensic Science Agency, and find out the cause of the blast. The committee will submit suggestions as soon as possible to prevent such accidents in the future.

بہاول پور (پ ر) وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور پروفیسر ڈاکٹر نوید اختر نے چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیز میں گزشتہ روز منہدم ہونے والی عمارت کے واقعہ پر تحقیقاتی کمیٹی بنانے کی ہدایت کی ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا ہے کہ اس واقع کی جدید سائنسی پہلوؤں خاص طور پر فرانزک تحقیقات کرکے وجوہات کا پتہ لگایا جائے۔ وائس چانسلر نے یونیورسٹی خزانہ دار کو ہدایت کی ہے کہ زخمی ہونے والے اساتذہ اور طلبا کے علاج کا مکمل خرچہ یونیورسٹی ادا کرے گی۔ وائس چانسلر نے آج جائے حادثہ کا معائنہ کیا۔ اس موقع پر چیف سیکورٹی آفیسر نے انہیں بریفنگ دی۔ وائس چانسلر نے ہدایت کی کہ یونیورسٹی کی تمام عمارات میں موجود گیس پائپ لائنوں کا معائنہ کیا جائے اور کسی بھی طرح کی لیکیج کی روک تھام کرتے ہوئے حفاظتی معیارات کو یقینی بنایا جائے۔ وائس چانسلر نے اسپیشل سیکرٹری ہائر ایجوکیشن ڈیپارٹمنٹ سرفراز احمد کا گزشتہ شام یونیورسٹی کا ہنگامی دورہ کرنے اور تعاون پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔ وائس چانسلر نے ایم ایس بہاول وکٹوریہ ہسپتال ڈاکٹر عامر بخاری اور نشتر ہسپتال کے برن یونٹ کے ڈاکٹروں اور عملے کے بروقت تعاون پر بھی شکریہ ادا کیا۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ آزمائش کی اس گھڑی میں یونیورسٹی اساتذہ، ملازمین اور طلبا و طالبات نے یکجان ہوکر اس حادثے کا مقابلہ کیا ہے۔ دریں اثناء رجسٹرار محمد شجیع الرحمن نے وائس چانسلر کی ہدایت پر تحقیقاتی کمیٹی تشکیل دے دی ہے۔ اس کمیٹی کی سربراہ پروفیسر ڈاکٹر شازیہ انجم ہیں اور دیگر ممبران میں ہارون رشید چیئرمین شعبہ سول انجینئرنگ، توصیف انور ایگزیکٹو انجینئر، عبدلودود چیف سیکیورٹی آفیسر، ڈاکٹر محمد ابراہیم منیجرآکوپیشنل سیفٹی اینڈ ہیلتھ شامل ہیں۔یہ کمیٹی چولستان انسٹی ٹیوٹ آف ڈیزرٹ اسٹڈیز میں ہونے والے دھماکے کی وجواہات کا تعین کرے گی۔ کمیٹی متعلقہ حکومتی اداروں اور ایجنسیز بشمول پنجاب فرانزک سائنس ایجنسی سے رابطہ کرے گی اور دھماکے کی وجہ معلوم کرے گی۔ کمیٹی آئندہ اس قسم کے حادثات کی روک تھام کے لیے جلد از جلد تجاویز پیش کرے گی۔
