Vice Chancellor Congratulates to IUB

Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur while congratulating the faculty, staff, students, social and educational circles of Bahawalpur, said that the federal government has included mega project worth Rs. 4 billion of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur in next year's financial budget. The PC1 for these projects has been approved by Central Development Working Party and will lead to the construction of new teaching departments, institutes and hostels at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and its sub-campuses and a new sub-campus at Ahmadpur East. These projects are part of the Rs. 44 billion development budget allocated by the government for the higher education sector. Later, Rs. 15 billion will be added to this development package. Initially, a grant of Rs. 200 million has been earmarked for projects of Islamia University of Bahawalpur for the year 2021-22 and additional amount will be provided on the basis of performance. Speaking on the budget broadcast of Radio Pakistan, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that in this year's financial budget, Rs. 44 billion have been allocated for development works in the higher education sector and there is an operational budget of Rs. 66 billion through which the Higher Education Commission provides grants to universities. These grants have been significantly increased as compared to previous years and it is gratifying that the government has made more room for it which can be increased by Rs.15 billion. The total allocation of the Higher Education Commission is about Rs. 120 billion which is a very good sign for the higher education sector.

پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر نے فیکلٹی، سٹاف، طلباء وطالبات اور بہاولپور کے سماجی وتعلیمی حلقوں کو مبارکباد دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ وفاقی حکومت نے آئندہ سال کے مالیاتی بجٹ میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کے 4 ارب روپے مالیت کے میگا پروجیکٹس کے لیے رقم مختص کر دی ہے۔ ان منصوبوں کا پی سی ون سنٹرل ڈویلپمنٹ ورکنگ پارٹی سے منظور شدہ ہے اور اس سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور اس کے سب کیمپسز میں نئے تدریسی شعبہ جات، انسٹیٹیوٹ اور ہاسٹل تعمیر کیے جائے گے اور احمد پور شرقیہ میں نیا سب کیمپس بھی قائم ہوگا۔یہ منصوبے ہائر ایجوکیشن کے شعبے کے لیے حکومت کی جانب سے مختص کیے گئے 44 ارب روپے کے ترقیاتی بجٹ کا حصہ ہیں۔ بعدازاں ان میں 15ارب روپے کا اضافہ کر دیا جائے گا۔ ابتدائی طور پر سال 2021-22 کے لیے اس منصوبے کی مد میں 200ملین روپے کی گرانٹ رکھی گئی ہے اور کارکردگی کی بنیاد پر اضافی رقم فراہم کی جائے گی۔ مزید براں وائس چانسلر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے ریڈیو پاکستان کی بجٹ نشریات میں گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ اس سال کے مالی بجٹ میں ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن میں ترقیاتی کاموں کے لیے 44ارب روپے رکھے گئے ہیں اور 66 بلین روپے کا آپریشن بجٹ ہے جس کے ذریعے ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن یونیورسٹیز کو گرانٹ دیتی ہے۔ان میں پچھلے برسوں کے مقابلے میں ایک قابل ذکر اضافہ کیا گیا ہے اور خوش آئند بات ہے کہ حکومت نے اس میں مزید گنجائش رکھی ہے کہ اس میں 15ارب روپے بڑھائے بھی جا سکتے ہیں۔ ہائر ایجوکیشن کمیشن کی کل مختص کی گی رقم تقریباً 120بلین روپے ہے جو  اعلی تعلیم کے شعبے کے لئے انتہائی نیک شگون ہے۔
