Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob meeting with renowned journalist, writer, film critic Khurram Sohail

Vice Chancellor the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said that in this age of globalization, it is very important to acquaint students with the language, literature and culture of other countries. Information communication technology connects nations spread across different continents and their social and cultural interests are intertwined. In the same background, the Institute of Languages has been established at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, with the aim of providing students with knowledge of different languages and literature and translation and publication of other languages. Similarly, the Directorate of International Linkages is also promoting links with international educational institutions. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views in a meeting with renowned journalist, writer, film critic Khurram Sohail in his office. President of Urdu Department Dr. Rubina Rafique, Controller News Radio Pakistan Sajjad Pervez, Chairperson Department of Persian Dr. Ismat Durrani and teachers, Amir Sohail and Farjad Faiz were also present on the occasion. On this occasion, Khurram Sohail presented his book Ghenji and Khurram Sohail to the Vice Chancellor. This book is based on a Japanese novel written over a thousand year ago. The Vice Chancellor appreciated the author's literary efforts. Khurram Sohail said that he was impressed with the expansion and development of Islamia University Bahawalpur and due to his association with the Japanese Embassy, he will liaison to promotion of literature, faculty and exchange of students between the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and Japanese universities.

وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب نے کہا ہے کہ عالمگیریت کے اس دور میں طلباء وطالبات کو دوسرے ممالک کی زبان، ادب اور ثقافت سے روشناس کرانا بہت اہم ہے۔ انفارمیشن کمیونیکیشن ٹیکنالوجی نے مختلف براعظموں میں پھیلی اقوام کو باہم جوڑ دیا ہے اور ان کے سماجی اور ثقافتی مفادات ایک دوسرے سے جوڑے ہوئے ہیں۔ اسی تنازل میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور میں انسٹیٹیوٹ آف لینگوئجز قائم کیا گیا ہے جس کا مقصد طلباء وطالبات کو مختلف زبانوں سے آگاہی اور دیگر زبانوں کے ادب اور ترجمہ اور اشاعت شامل ہے۔ اسی طرح ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف انٹرنیشنل لنکجز بھی بین الاقوامی تعلیمی اداروں سے روابط کو فروغ دے رہا ہے۔وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار اپنے دفتر میں معروف صحافی، ادیب، فلمی نقاد خرم سہیل سے ایک ملاقات میں کیا۔ اس موقع پرصدر شعبہ اردو ڈاکٹر روبینہ رفیق، کنٹرولرنیوز ریڈیو پاکستان سجاد پرویز، صدر شعبہ فارسی ڈاکٹر عصمت درانی اور اساتذہ کرام، عامر سہیل اور فرجاد فیض بھی موجود تھے۔ اس موقع پر خرم سہیل نے اپنی کتاب گینجی کی کہانی اور خرم سہیل وائس چانسلر کو پیش کی۔ یہ کتاب ایک ہزار سال پہلے لکھے گئے جاپانی ناول سے مرتب کی گئی ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے مصنف کی ادبی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ خرم سہیل نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور کی وسعت اور ترقی سے بے حد متاثر ہوئے ہیں اور جاپانی سفارت خانے سے منسلک ہونے کے باعث وہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور اور جاپانی جامعات کے مابین فروغ ادب، فیکلٹی اور طلباء وطالبات کے تبادلے جیسے معاملات پر پیش رفت کے لیے خصوصی کوشش کریں گے۔
