Worthy VC and his team visited the office of the Ministry of Climate Change in Islamabad and met Ms. Naz Baloch

Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Naz Baloch said that climate change has become a challenge for the survival of the whole world including Pakistan. There are situations like drought and floods which are affecting all the provinces of Pakistan and social and economic relations are facing. In this regard, the research carried out by the scientists of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, especially the plan for the settlement of Cholistan to increase rainfall, is very welcome. Member National Assembly Naz Baloch expressed these views during a meeting with the representative delegation of the university under the leadership of Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur at the office of the Ministry of Climate Change. On this occasion Dr. Muhammad Ali Raza Director National Research Center of Intercropping gave a briefing regarding the increase in rainfall in Cholistan and the establishment of an agro-economic zone through it, and the conversion of more than seven lac acres of land into the fruits basket of Pakistan. During the meeting, IG Forestry Ghulam Qadir, Director Alumni Affairs Dr. Azhar Hussain, Director Press Media and Publications Shahzad Ahmed Khalid were also present. The Vice-Chancellor said that the scientists of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur are doing significant research on climate change along with agricultural research. Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change Naz Baloch appreciated the research activities of the Islamia University of Bahawalpur regarding climate change of Pakistan. IG Forests said that the project can be implemented through the National Disaster Risk Management Fund.

پارلیمانی سیکرٹری برائے موسمیاتی تبدیلی ناز بلوچ نے کہا ہے کہ موسمی تغیر پاکستان سمیت پوری دنیا کی بقاء کے لئے چیلنج بن چکے ہیں۔ خشک سالی اور سیلاب جیسی صورتحال کا سامنا ہے۔ جس سے پاکستان کے تمام صوبے متاثر ہورہے ہیں اور سماجی اور معاشی تعلقات کا سامنا ہے۔ اس سلسلہ میں اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے سائنسدانوں کی جانب سے کی جانے والی تحقیق خصوصاً بارش میں اضافہ کے لئے چولستان کی آبادکاری کا منصوبہ انتہائی خوش آئند ہے۔ ایم این اے ناز بلوچ نے ان خیالات کا اظہار انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹر اطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی سربراہی میں یونیورسٹی کے نمائندہ وفد سے وزارت موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے دفتر میں ایک ملاقات کے دوران کیا۔ اس موقع پر ڈاکٹر محمد علی رضا ڈائریکٹر انٹرنیشنل ریسرچ سنٹر نے چولستان میں بارش کے منصوبہ میں اضافے اور اس کے ذریعے ایگرواکنامک زون کے قیام اور سات لاکھ ایکڑ سے زائد رقبہ کو پاکستان کے فروٹ باسٹک میں بدلنے سے متعلق بریفنگ دی۔ ملاقات کے دوران آئی جی جنگلات غلام قادر، ڈائریکٹر ایلومنائی ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین، ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلکیشنز شہزاد احمد خالد بھی موجود تھے۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کے سائنسدان زرعی تحقیق کے ساتھ ساتھ موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے حوالے سے نمایاں ریسرچ کر رہے ہیں۔ جس کو وفاقی اور صوبائی سطح پر سراہا جا رہا ہے۔ محترمہ ناز بلوچ نے پاکستان کی موسمیاتی تبدیلی کے حوالے سے اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور کی تحقیقی سرگرمیوں کو سراہا۔ آئی جی جنگلات نے کہا کہ نیشنل ڈیزاسٹر ریسک مینجمنٹ فنڈ کے زریعے اس منصوبے کو عملی شکل دی جا سکتی ہے۔
