Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mehboob, Vice Chancellor, the Islamia of University Bahawalpur, has said that alumni are an asset of the University, with the help and cooperation of which the pace of development of the university can be accelerated. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a 100 year old University from which the graduates are spread all over the world including Pakistan. Their help and cooperation is very important in the development of the University. The Vice Chancellor expressed these views while addressing a gathering of journalist alumni at National Press Club Islamabad yesterday. President of Federal Union of Journalists Shahzada Zulfiqar, President National Press Club Islamabad Anwar Raza, Dr. Sadia Kamal, Saghir Chaudhry, Naveed Akbar Chaudhry, Rana Adnan, Farrukh Ejaz, Naveed Azhar, Fahad Ahmad Missan, Tariq Ali Virk, Muhammad Faraz Malik, Shehzad Ahmad Khalid, Director Press Media and Publications, Dr. Azhar Hussain, Director Alumni were present on the occasion. The Vice Chancellor said that alumni members can raise their voices in the capital for their motherland in their respective fields, especially in the press media. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur is a fast growing University in which the number of students has increased from 13 thousand to 57 thousand in the last three years, the number of teachers has increased from 450 to 1200. The University has increased the number of faculties from 7 to 15 and new departments have been set up to suit the needs of the market and the country. To this end, projects worth Rs. 12 billion are being implemented by the federal government, provincial government and public-private partnership and from their own resources. Alumni can be very effective for timely funding of these projects. Dr. Azhar Hussain, Director, Alumni, said that the Alumni Network has provided a platform to alumni around the world and so far 14,000 alumni have registered. Rana Adnan, the focal person of the event, thanked the Vice Chancellor for attending the event and for his encouragement. Shields were also distributed among the alumni members on the occasion.

انجینئر پروفیسر ڈاکٹراطہر محبوب وائس چانسلر اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور نے کہا ہے کہ ایلومینائی یونیورسٹی کااثاثہ ہیں جس کی مدد اور تعاون سے یونیورسٹی کی ترقی کی رفتار تیز تر ہو سکتی ہے۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاول پور ایک سو سال قدیم دانش گاہ ہے جس سے فارغ التحصیل طلباء و طالبات پاکستان سمیت دنیا بھر میں پھیلے ہوئے ہیں۔یونیورسٹی کی ترقی میں ان کی مدد اور تعاون بہت اہمیت کا حامل ہے۔ وائس چانسلر نے ان خیالات کا اظہار گزشتہ روز نیشنل پریس کلب اسلام آباد میں جرنلسٹ ایلومینائی کے اجتماع سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے کیا۔ اس موقع پر صدر پاکستان فیڈرل یونین آف جرنلسٹ شہزادہ ذوالفقار، صدر نیشنل پریس کلب اسلام آباد انور رضا،ڈاکٹرسعدیہ کمال، صغیر چوہدری، نوید اکبر چوہدری، رانا عدنان، فروخ اعجاز، نوید اظہر، فہد احمدمِسن، طارق علی وِرک، محمد فراز ملک، شہزاد احمد خالد ڈائریکٹر پریس میڈیا اینڈ پبلیکیشنز، ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین ڈائریکٹر ایلومینائی شامل تھے۔ وائس چانسلر نے کہا کہ ایلومینائی ارکان اپنے اپنے شعبوں خصوصاً پریس میڈیا میں اپنے مادر علمی کے لیے دارالحکومت میں آواز بلند کر سکتے ہیں۔ اسلامیہ یونیورسٹی بہاولپور تیزی سے ترقی کرتی ہوئی یونیورسٹی ہے جس میں گزشتہ تین برسوں میں طلباء وطالبات کی تعداد 13ہزار سے بڑھا کر 57ہزار، اساتذہ کی تعداد450سے بڑھ کر 1200ہو چکی ہے یونیورسٹی نے فیکلٹیوں کی تعداد بڑھا کر 7سے 15کر دی ہے اور مارکیٹ اور ملک کی ضروریات کے مطابق نئے شعبہ جات قائم کیے گئے ہیں۔ اس مقصد کے لیے وفاقی حکومت، صوبائی حکومت اور پبلک پرائیوٹ پارٹنر شپ اور اپنے ذرائع سے 12ارب روپے کے پروجیکٹ زیر تکمیل ہیں۔ ان منصوبوں کی بروقت فنڈنگ کے لیے ایلومینائی بہت مؤثر آواز بلند کر سکتی ہے۔ ڈائریکٹر ایلومینائی ڈاکٹر اظہر حسین نے بتایا کہ ایلومینائی نیٹ ورک کے ذریعے دنیا بھر کے ایلومینائی کو ایک پلیٹ فارم مہیا کر دیا گیا ہے اور اب تک 14ہزار سابق گریجویٹس رجسٹرڈ ہو چکے ہیں۔ تقریب کے فوکل پرسن رانا عدنان نے وائس چانسلر کی تقریب میں شرکت اور حوصلہ افزائی پر شکریہ ادا کیا۔ اس موقع پر ایلومینائی ارکان میں خصوصی شیلڈ بھی تقسیم کیں گئیں۔
