• Develop and coordinate the preparation and maintenance of energy system cost-effectiveness studies and programs; assists in department budget preparation.
• Promote initiatives for renewable energy production at the campus.
• Coordinate with ongoing renewable energy activities and maintain data oftotal energy usage.
• Monitor monthly savings in energy usage and prepare a performance report.

• Suggest measures to bring existing infrastructure in line with the SOPs of sustainability and environment preservation especially water and energy preservation.
•  Promote initiatives to ensure that new buildings in the university should be green buildings.
• Promote initiatives to ensure that the university must have greenways, footpaths, cycleways.
• Promote initiatives to preserve the university landscape, biodiversity, and green spaces.
•  Prepare a monthly performance report about the initiative taken for green infrastructure.

• Prepare a report on baseline consumption of per head energy use, per head water use, per head petrol and diesel use, per head paper use, per head waste generated and total course on sustainability and environment being taught at the IUB campuses.
• Update this database on monthly bases and compare it with the baseline data.

• Determine the major source of plastic generation at the campus.
• Maintains records of plastic usage and determine the plastic intensity of different activities taking place at the campus. 
• Identify the measures,  recommends solutions to minimize plastic usage at the campus.
• Collect good practices, identify viable solutions to scale up, and facilitate learning and knowledge sharing in plastic-free society development
• Provide technical assistance and policy support on a plastic-free society.
• Monitor monthly reduction in plastic usage and prepare a performance report.
• Constantly evaluate the performance of the measures to reduce plastic usage and modify them accordingly.
