Department of Agriculture Extension

Department of Agriculture Extension is a recently approved department of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment (UA&E). At present department is offering BSc (Hons) Agriculture Science Major Agriculture Extension. The goal of the Department of Agriculture Extension is to educate the farming community about the new agricultural technologies and their adoption, indicate the bottlenecks in the adoption process and finding their solutions. Moreover, Agriculture Extension act as a bridge for technology transfer between research institutions and the farming community. The objectives of the Department of Agriculture Extension may include the leadership development, application of extension methods in agriculture, uplift the living standards of the farming community, elevate poverty through sustainable development, conserving biodiversity, agricultural technology transfer, advisory services for respondents, human resource development in agriculture through educational and awareness programs.
