Department of Electronics Engineering

The Department of Electronic Engineering is the pioneering department of the Faculty of Engineering, established in 1999. The department aims to provide cutting-edge engineering education for aspiring young students across the country, with a special focus on students from Southern Punjab.

Faculty Excellence and Qualifications:

The department prides itself on its distinguished faculty, consisting of 09 members, 8 of whom hold PhDs from prestigious foreign institutions. The experienced and faculty ensures that both undergraduate and graduate engineering programs are delivered with the highest standards of academic excellence. The faculty's dedication to teaching and research guarantees that students receive a well-rounded education that is both theoretical and practical. The department has four lab engineers, all of whom hold master's degrees and possess prior industrial experience. Additionally, the department employs four lab supervisors, two lab technicians, and six lab attendants.

State-of-the-Art Infrastructure:

The Department of Electronic Engineering is equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories that provide hands-on experience with the latest technologies and methodologies. These labs are designed to foster innovation and practical learning, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world problems. The spacious, air-conditioned classrooms are equipped with modern teaching aids and multimedia facilities, creating an optimal learning environment.

Comprehensive Library and Computing Facilities:

The department's library is a treasure trove of knowledge, housing over 50,000 engineering books, journals, and research papers. This extensive collection supports the academic and research needs of both students and faculty. Additionally, the department boasts advanced computing labs featuring more than 100 modern computers, all equipped with the latest software and tools necessary for contemporary engineering education. These resources are accessible to students for both coursework and research projects.

Accreditation and Graduate Success:

The department takes pride in its history of producing highly qualified graduates. To date, 23 batches of students have successfully graduated from the department. Each program is accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), ensuring that the education provided meets national and international standards of quality and relevance. This accreditation is a testament to the department’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and continuously improving its programs.

Accreditation Status

All previous batches are accredited, with the batches from 2016 onwards receiving accreditation at the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Level-II under the Washington Accord. This prestigious accreditation reflects the department’s commitment to adhering to global standards of engineering education, ensuring that our graduates are recognized for their high-quality education and are prepared to compete and collaborate in the international engineering community.

Semester system: 4 years/8 semesters.

Curriculum

  • In line with PEC and HEC guidelines.
  • 136 credit hours.
  • 69:31 ratio of engineering to non-engineering subjects.
