Welcome to the Department of Homeopathic Medical Sciences at the Islamia University of Bahawalpur, a premier institution dedicated to advance the field of homoeopathy. Our department is at the forefront of integrating homeopathic knowledge with contemporary medical education, creating a dynamic learning environment for students and researchers alike.

The Department was established in the year 2000 at the Khawaja Fareed Campus with a commitment for promoting holistic health and well-being, our department offers a rigorous academic curriculum that blends theoretical understanding with practical application. We provide a comprehensive education in homeopathic medicine, focusing on classical principles, remedy preparation/selection and patient care. Our programs are designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the evolving field of alternative medicine.

It is the first institution in Pakistan offering a 5-year BHMS (Bachelor of Homeopathic Medical Sciences) degree program (Annual system) and one year compulsory House Job. The course of the program consists of the subjects Anatomy, Physiology, Bio-Chemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, Pharmacognosy, Clinical Psychology & Psychiatry, Forensic Medicine, Surgery, ENT, Pediatrics and Homeopathic Philosophy, Case Taking and Repertorization, Homeopathic Materia Medica and Homeopathic Pharmacy. Furthermore, the laboratories of Anatomy Museum, Animal Research and Histopathology have also been established. The department aims to equip students with high values of knowledge and education through meticulous class work, practical work in laboratories and apprenticeship training. Many BHMS graduates are working in Government Sector as well as in Private Organizations. BHMS Program is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, the Ministry of Health and the National Council for Homoeopathy, Pakistan.

National Council for Homeopathy issues registration to BHMS professionals. BHMS the 5 years program is equivalent to a Master’s degree provided by HEC. The Department of Homeopathic Medical Sciences is going to start higher studies, M. Phil and Ph. D degrees in future.
