Department of Water Management

Department of Water management is an allied department of the Institute of Soil & Water Resources in the Faculty of Agriculture & Environment. It is recently developed department which aims to produce graduates who are capable to contribute to the development of agriculture of the Southern Punjab where farmers are facing problem of acute shortage of rain and irrigation water.

The program focuses on scientific analysis of the physical, technical and socio-economic aspects of water management and on the ability to design sustainable and efficient technical solutions to water management problems. Students in the program develop comparative insight into the development of water management, take a scientific approach to various research paradigms and acquire a problem-oriented, interdisciplinary attitude towards land and water management and rural development issues. The program addresses issues such as water resources management and the relationship between the hydrological cycle and agriculture. Management interventions for the conservation of soil and water and the maintenance of natural resources in sustainable farming are an integral part of water management degree program. Degree of water management is interdisciplinary subject and all the faculty related to water management degree related subjects are available in different departments of the University.

BS Water Management

Eligibility Criteria: FSc Pre-medical/FSc Pre-Engineering, Diploma in Agri. Sciences (DAS) 3 years/Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) Civil Technology with 45% marks.

Test: 40% marks in University/HEC/NTS tests or as per HEC / IUB Policy
